GEA 2000: World Regional Geography LAH 2020: Latin American Civilizations REL 2011: Religion, Analysis & Interpretation CPO 4057: Political Violence and Revolutions DSC 4012: Global Terrorism
In these courses I learned about a series of topics that allowed me to grow as a global citizen. I gained a better understanding of the world around me through the study of different religions, unknown cultures and political environments that led to revolutions or violence. In the Global Terrorism course, we examined the causes of terrorism on a national, regional and international scale. We covered topics such as the formation of Isis and federal laws concerning domestic terror. It was so powerful to be taking a course on terrorism from a practitioner in the field of law enforcement especially as an international relations major. This is the case because my major is very theory based. This professor even gave an anecdotal account of the Orlando shooting which happened while I was taking this course.
